Hollywood (Hollyweird): So Cliché, But This Is LA

Hollywood (Hollyweird): So Cliché, But This Is LA

I am in Los Angeles for the week and thought I would revisit a post that describes how living in Los Angeles is not like what you see on TV. There are some great parts about living in Southern California (including the weather and the shopping) but there are some other reasons that make it challenging to live and navigate this harsh environment (they could probably film an episode of Naked and Afraid in some parts of LA). So, while I am in Beverly Hills, I thought I would share one of my favorite snarky posts and see if you… Continue Reading

My Guest Lecture At The University of Arizona On Social Media

My Guest Lecture At The University of Arizona On Social Media

Last week, I drove to the University of Arizona to speak to the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Department students about Blogging, Social Media, and being a Social Media Influencer. The school offers several different options of Majors and Minors focusing on a variety of topics surrounding the innovation and technological advancements of computer technology including the ever-changing landscape of Social Media. I wish they had these options when I was in school. The students were a bit hesitant at first but opened up pretty quickly. The professor had them prepare questions prior to my arrival, which was a… Continue Reading

Mediocrity

“The every presence of mediocrity requires constant vigilance. Mediocrity is everywhere. If you allow mediocrity to happen you fall into the commonplace and you become ordinary

Words from the wise a.k.a. my dad from his mentor. “The ever presence of mediocrity requires constant vigilance. Mediocrity is everywhere. If you allow mediocrity to happen, you fall into the commonplace and you become ordinary.” Do you know what this means? Do you know someone like this? Is it you? Don’t let it be and don’t stand for it in the workplace, in your relationships or in any part of your life. So, stand out. Work hard. Go for… Continue Reading

Melany Berger Guest Lecturer at the University of Arizona

I am going back to school tomorrow at the University of Arizona, not as a student but as a guest lecturer on some of my favorite topics besides rock n’ roll and sports. I will be lecturing the Communication and eSociety students about blogging, social media, and being a social media influencer tomorrow in Tucson, AZ! I am a proud #Wildcatforlife and can’t wait to go visit. It is so much fun going back to school and sharing how I started my business. Even better than that is I am given the opportunity to learn directly from the students about… Continue Reading

Winning With Melany Wynn

Winning With Melany Wynn

When I started this blog a few years back there was not a blogger category for what I do today. Everyone wanted to force me into being a dating blogger and I didn’t want to be pigeon holed writing only about dating. There is nothing wrong with writing about dating because as you know, I do it all the time but I can only write so many posts about the idiots I have encountered in my lackluster dating life for so long. Plus, it is not good for my dating life. Like at all. When someone finds out I write… Continue Reading

Anthony was first class from start to finish and I think his voice rocks! What about you? Thank you for the opportunity to share a bit of… Continue Reading

Fantastic Presents For A Boyfriend Who's Hard To Buy For

Can we just agree that buying a gift for a guy, any guy is hard. I had a boyfriend once, a long time ago now. I bought him this lovely designer jacket. It was perfect and incredibly stylish. Do you know what he did? He asked me how much it was and when I finally told him, asked for the receipt. He then said it was a waste of money, took it back and bought a different jack for a tenner from a superstore. Needless to say, he wasn’t my boyfriend for much longer. I think most guys think girls… Continue Reading
