Hello. Is this thing on?
It has been a little while and I am squeezing in this post in the middle of the most chaotic 6 months of my life because I have to share.
As most of you know, Teddy Brewski (my Havanese) and I live in Arizona. He is never without me on the other end of a leash outside. Who is walking whom, is debatable but that is beside the point. Anyway, there are so many wild animals in Phoenix and I have named them all in hopes that they will play nicely but of course there always has to be one. The snarky one.
- Bobcat (s) – Petey
- Scorpion (s) – Petey
- Lizard (s)- Petey
- 7 Foot King Snake – Petey
- 3 Foot King Snake – Petey
- Coyote (s) – Petey
- Huge, super aggressive and hungry Horned Owl – Petey
They are all Petey!
Monday night was the second time that Teddy Brewski (while on a 6 foot leash with me) in the backyard were swooped on by this owl named….Petey (you know that already). This time, we were way too close to getting attacked and I was very shaken.
I fell over because it seemed like he was going for both of us and dove under the overhang in my yard. Teddy slipped his leash and we were both stunned at how fast it happened. We were both O.K. but scared.
So, what does one do while attacked by owls named Petey in their own backyard?
Post it on the Internet. Google it. Ask for suggestions? Check Amazon for suggestions.
The only upside to being almost attacked by this raptor is the laugh I got from reading reviews on Amazon. Lately, I barely have time to take a shower and get ready in the morning and a lot of people have taken the time to write extensive reviews on Amazon about owl deterrents. Now, I know why. They are hilarious and if you ever need a laugh….well, I have suggested reading for you.
But, first watch this video of my dog versus “Hootie” the owl scarecrow.
It’s a hoot!
Ill keep you updated on our success with Petey, Petey, Petey, Petey, Petey, Petey, Petey and Hootie of course!
P.S. Because what we all REALLY want to know is……
How many licks does it really takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?Click To Tweet
