Every morning I swear to repeat this mantra. I am going to print it out and hang on my mirror. It is the summer and I want to take some time for myself while still being able to do the things I WANT to do. This means not feeling obligated to do things others think I SHOULD be doing.
Here we go.
Cue the chanting music and theme lighting. Add a candle and throw in some incense but please spare me the Nag Champa. I think I left that scent back in San Francisco on Haight Street when I was 18 years old.
MMMMMM Melany
MMMMMM MelanysGuydlines
MMMMMM Teddy Brewskiiiiiiiis (Yum, but let’s do this a little later)
Don’t let anything own you. Own everything.
Kick ass and take names in fashionable heels.
Don’t get anyone’s negative on my positive.
Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.
Appreciate everything especially what is right in front of you.
Stop to smell the roses. No, stop and actually smell those roses.
Always walk Teddy Brewski because he will be there for me even if I miss one day.
Don’t get lost in the minutia. See the bigger picture.
Go the gym. Again. Eat Right.
Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. Compare yourself to yourself yesterday. Be better than yesterday.
And….. do a little (a lot of) shopping.
M is for “Make” things happen.
Enjoy your summer and savor your life.
Pet the dog.
End chant. Now, go and MAKE things happen Melany!
Now, you try. What is your mantra?
**Stay snarky my friends!**
It couldn’t get any better! Love it.
