Oscar Goes To You: Win $400 Official Oscar Nominee Gifts by Jan Lewis

Happy ridicule ugly dresses and praise beautiful gowns day aka day after the Academy Awards! How many of you enjoyed the show last night?
I must admit that I watched but my ADD set it and Twitter took over so I missed parts of the show. But, I am happy Jared Leto (my boyfriend) has finally received recognition because we have been dating since he was on “My So Called Life”. Not really, but I want one of him on that show-NOW. Also, I have yet to see “Wolf of Wall Street” but probably need to find a date for that. I am working on the date part because Jared may be busy tonight.

Nominees either receive a naked, gold guy named Oscar to collect dust on their mantle (I could use one) or the legendary gift bag. One of the featured product designers in the Oscar gift bag is Jan Lewis of Jan Lewis Designs. Jan always loved art, design, and anthropology, which are evident in each of her 50 unique designs from her signature bangle bracelets. She began creating the designs over 20 years ago while on tour with her multi Grammy award winning husband, Ramsey Lewis. Jan told me that she would work on the designs while touring with Ramsey and had additional inspiration from the places she visited while on the road.

She told me that, “One dot led to another and led to another” and so on, which created the distinct patterns on each bracelet. The bracelets landed in a box in the back of her closet for almost 20 years until she remembered her labor of love designs and decided to pursue making available to the public for affordable prices. So, she told Ramsey that they needed to travel to India to find the right people to produce her one-of-a-kind, hand crafted bangles with a focus on Fair Trade. This is what sets her apart from other designers.

Her coveted, unique bangles are included in the Oscar gift bag presented to the nominees!
