21 Things I Can’t Travel Without

21 Things I Can’t Travel Without

Can you guess what they are?

If you have been keeping up with me that is better than what I am doing. I was actually in one place for longer than two months in July and August and my suitcase called to tell me that he needed a workout, so I obliged. People always tell me I need to put roots down but every time I try to put down the anchor other things pop up in my schedule that need to be attended to for work. Just this week, I traveled from Scottsdale, AZ to Beverly Hills, CA and then next week I will travel to my Alma Mater University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ for my first Board meeting and a football game
(BEAT CAL– Bear Down) then back to Scottsdale for a day and then it is off to my favorite sin city Las Vegas for the Cox Business #GetStartedLV event. Are you tired yet? Oh – don’t forget that one day in between I will be rocking out at the Rockstar Uproar Festival in Phoenix to my favorite boys from Boston –GODSMACK! Uncle?!!! Uncle!

Sometimes, I wonder how I travel so much but in the end it has given me the most eclectic group of friends and experiences. I mean I worked in the music business so maintaining a travel schedule that seems hectic to most is the norm for me.

So, you all know that I hate packing. But, lately, there a few things that I must have in my case to make me feel rested, refreshed, and snarkalicious. And…..here they are….
Lets pretend we are dumping out my Tumi in this edition of what’s in Melany’s suitcase like they do in the magazines? (No electronics are mentioned here because it would take up too much room like it already does in my bag).

Isagenix – this is the key to life, my skin and releasing unwanted poundage from the booty. Seriously, I posted a pic on FB in a bikini for the first time since college and can actually fit back in some of my college clothes. YIPPEE! No joke – I came back to LA with a half empty suitcase so I could shop in my own closet and I found some great things to wear. It is a pretty intense way of life but if you want to try it – I can help you out. LMK – it is almost like a cult of very happy, healthy, and skinny people. It takes dedication and hard work but doesn’t anything that is truly worth it take dedication and hard work? ASK ME ABOUT IT!

Clarasonic Brush – Use this baby to exfoliate remnants of your date from the night before that was as exciting as shit on a stick. Plus, they have one for your tootsies too.

Lubricate, lubricate, lubricate. Lotion, moisturize everywhere all the time. I use a combination of firming lotions from Nivea on my body and Dermalogica facial moisturizer with SPF (not too, too much because I have an affair with the sun).

Any big hat and signature DITA Grand Master Flash eyewear just in case I have too many grey goose vodkas the night before so I can hide and still look snarky (and it helps me rap the entire humpty dance).

Workout pants from Zella from Nordies and X Heat Gear. Can’t forget my customizable Nikes. Gotta keep that booty tight in bright pink kicks.

Tweezers – no stray hairs allowed.

Salt scrub. Smoothies or coconut flavor (or anything that smells yummy but not too sweet). I once read that guys like good smelling scents on women – like things they want to eat?? Hmmmmm

WATER, WATER, WATER, WATER

Skintimate Shave gel and NEW Mach 3 razers-always. Close shaves are not just for men, ladies.

Tinted Moisturizer – We are not going to get into the fact that
I have been known to be tanorexic during a few stages of my life but for those who are smart and shield from the sun – a tinted moisturizer is the key to looking young and healthy especially in photos. But, for the love of all people in makeup – find the correct shade. You don’t want to look like you rolled around in a Dorrito bag.

Black eyeliner from Makeup Forever. The blacker the better.

Lancome Mascara. I use three different types. I am talking primer (white stuff like conditioner for your lashes) definicils (lengthener) and flextinicils (curler).

Lip Gloss – something shimmery, shiny, glittery and not sticky. Can’t remember the name because I always lose them.

Loose powder by Smashbox and nice tight brush. No pancake makeup ladies. So out dated.

Dior Skin Bronzer – again with the tan, I know.

Chanel Blush, simply the best and smells good.

Girogio Armani – Eyes to kill is a new favorite. Love this stuff.

Ibiza round blow out brush. I can’t blow out my hair like my stylists but this is the best and only brush.

What am I missing from this? Is there any room for my clothes or shoes or do I need a bigger suitcase? But, let me tell you that I got carded last night and the key is not to over do your botox. Everything in moderation especially when it comes to fillers. I saw an old friend last night and she told me
“we went on vacation and had Botox done in Boca Raton Florida” and it actually looked good. So, when in Boca you may as well get Botox, I guess. But, in moderation people!
Trust me when I tell you that a lot of the ladies walking around my neighborhood in Beverly Hills probably regret that they can’t express in their face how bad their botox job is on their own face. K?

ALSO –

REMEMBER – Just say NO to flowy dresses or anything with patterns that do not photo well and make you look like a cow.

PS – If I could fit Teddy Brewski in the suitcase I would but for now I have to thank my go to Partners Dog Training in Arizona for taking good care of my dog and sending me this….

How do you have room for all of that? You don’t look like you wear a lot of makeup. You are really pretty and obviously, know how to apply makeup so it looks natural. Maybe, you should write some beauty tips. BTW, love your dog Teddy and happy that he can talk now and say how much he loves you.
