I’m back! I have been celebrating my birthday for almost a month but did not forget about you! PROMISE! Thankfully, Laura has a great post today (and is appropriately themed) while I try and catch up!

No matter how much you love the man in your life, or how well you know him, whenever their birthdays come around it feels like he’s suddenly become the most impossible person in the world to shop for. Maybe it’s because you don’t completely understand his hobbies, or you feel like you have to top the present you gave him last year, but the birthday countdown always leaves you pulling out your hair in frustration. First of all, don’t put so much pressure on yourself; if you know you’d love any gift he got you, why shouldn’t he feel the same about whatever you give him? If you’re still really stuck for ideas, here are a few ideas to inspire you.
Tickets
You know the man in your life better than you think. You know his favourite sports team, bands, and which movies he’s most anticipating this year. Search the internet to find out whether his favourite singer is performing somewhere nearby and score him a couple of tickets. It’s up to you whether you go with him, or tell him to invite a friend if this is something you think he’ll enjoy more with someone who shares the interest. Remember, the gift isn’t for you, and he will be incredibly happy that you were so thoughtful.
Get personal
Personalized gifts always go down a treat; people love getting gifts with their name on them, especially if their name isn’t common enough to show up on a mug in a gift shop. Online stores like giftsin24.com and Etsy now specialize in monogrammed notepads or engraved frames, so it’s just a matter of finding something your guy might like. Perhaps you’ve already seen something he’ll love, but if you’re still unsure, you can’t go wrong with a framed picture of the two of you with a personal engraving.
Dress up
Believe it or not, some men enjoy getting wined and dined just as much as women do. Make advanced reservations at an exclusive place, then get dressed to impress for your romantic night out. If you’d like to make it a little more personal, prepare his favorite dinner for when he comes home, then greet him at the door in your sexiest outfit.
Man Bath
Don’t let all the stereotypes fool you, men love baths just as much as women. They just might not be as crazy for candles, music, or flowery scents. There are a few tricks you can use to run a bath designed with him in mind, then you can leave him to unwind for a few minutes, then giving him a relaxing massage when he gets out. You could also spice up the experience by joining him.
Retreats
Everyone wants to take a break from everything once in a while, so if you’ve noticed you’ve both been too stressed or busy at work to focus on each other, then treat yourselves to a short weekend getaway. Take the time to relax, unwind, and rekindle your relationship.
