AllTwitter, AllFacebook, ALL Nerds Part 1 – #nerdsdoitbetter or not?

I decided to take a break from LALA land to attend the AllFacebook and AllTwitter Marketing conference in the land of people who make too much money and feel extremely entitled (a.k.a. I would never touch them with a 10 foot pole because I am not attracted to nerds who are assholes because they were so nerdy when they were young and have to overcompensate now that they have money) or the social media community. After spending almost a week in San FranNot paying attention at a conferencecisco I did not conclude that in fact #nerdsdoitbetter. They just don’t. I thought I should give you my snarky breakdown of the conference (snorseville) just in case you were wondering what the hell these two social media giants do in succeeding to drain your time and bank account. First, I can start by telling you the conferences are not worth your time or money in your bank account.

I was born and raised in Northern California and am very proud of it but the “new” boomers, engineers, social media gurus and computer CEO’s with the “holier than thou” attitudes can go back to where they came from. A man-child is never a good look and I don’t care how much money you are making – it does not turn me on. You might as well take that shit to women who are dumber than a bag of hammers and do not know any better.

As I was sitting through the All Facebook and All Twitter conference a few major things tripped me out. You think that when you sign up for a conference that you are there to “confer” and network, right? Well, these people missed that memo. I watched each day as people set up their entire offices on the table and typed away on their laptops, downed coffee, tweeted on their phones and applied makeup as if they were oblivious to the speakers in front of them.

Not paying attention at the conference.

Wait? What?

Not only did I feel badly for the speakers, as it was clear that no one was paying attention but I felt for the people’s employers paying for makeup Mollie to attend a conference and not pay attention. What a waste?

Melanysguydline #47 – Seriously people, you can answer that email after the lecture or apply too much powder after we wrap for the day (all that powder was not going to help anyway).

Cool it on the powder. Its not going to help anyway.

Cool it on the powder. Its not going to help anyway.

**More to come….to be continued because there was just way too much to write about this and I did not want to lose your attention too.

**Stay snarky my friends!**

Eegads. Sounds like I didn’t miss anything by not attending the conference other than the glorious chance to observe communication and relationships. Please tell me you didn’t drop a lot of cash on this!
