Adopt a Shelter Dog Month

Adopt a Shelter Dog Month

This is because I care.

Well, we all already know that I love my dog. Dogs rock. They are the best for so many reasons. I mean, Teddy Brewski already has more followers than most people. Plus, my dog in the Bay Area is a rescue and she is the sweetest ever. Her name is Gizmo and she knows we saved her life because we did. Rescues make amazing best friends and there are so many dogs out there that need a loving home!

Gizmo came from Wonder Dog Rescue in San Francisco. They are doing an amazing job rescuing dogs and finding them loving homes. Linda is the woman in charge and she is dedicated to this cause day in and day out. I don’t think you could find someone more caring about rescuing animals and placing them is happy homes. Thank you for giving my family Gizmo.

AWESOME!

Did you know that the month of October is Adopt A Shelter Dog Month? Well, it is. There is a month and day celebrating anything and everything lately but this cause should not be ignored and deserves a month!

If adopting a pet wasn’t a treat enough for you that you have a new BFF but all this month

“Cuddle Clones will reimburse the adoption fees to anyone who adopts a pet from their local shelter, all you have to do is follow the rules. One must post a collage of photos that includes the adoption papers (the date should be clearly visible and be sometime in the month of October), the receipt showing the amount paid for the adoption, and a photo of your new furever friend. Photos may be posted on either Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #ccFundingFurever and #CuddleClones. Once the individual posts on social media showing the proper information Cuddle Clones will comment on their post to contact them via email. Then they will retrieve their personal information for reimbursement via check or PayPal.”

How cool is that? Love it!

So, what is Cuddle Clones?

“Their founder, Jennifer Graham, was lying down with her best pal in the world, her Great Dane Rufus. Jennifer thought to herself “It would be great to have a stuffed animal of Rufus! Not a generic stuffed animal but one that was 100% custom-made to look JUST like him.” Several years passed but Jennifer never completely let go of the idea she had on that day. Then, in the fall of 2009, her beloved Rufus began to get sick. Rufus passed away on Thanksgiving of that year. … Since that day, Jennifer has poured all of her time, money and effort into making Cuddle Clones a company that would not only provide a unique, quality product to pet-lovers everywhere, but also a company that would give back to the pet community whenever and wherever possible through pet-related causes and animal charities.”

Love this post! Teddy and Gizmo are the cutest! Shelter pets are the best and all of our dogs have come from shelters or rescues. I have so much respect for these organizations because they are so overwhelmed, are always on limited resources, see terrible abuse cases, and they never give up. We try to help out our local shelter by fostering dogs and puppies but we are terrible at it. We never want to give up any of the dogs and that’s totally not the point of fostering at all 🙂 Anywho, I’m checking out the Cuddle Clones site right now.

Thank you so much from both Teddy and Gizmo! You rock for fostering dogs at shelters. That is awesome! I wouldn’t good at it either – I would want to keep all of them too!!! Thank you for the comment!!!
