6 Reasons Why You Should Get Married at a Golf Club

‘Tis the season for engagements and babies – OH MY! Right? So, this guest post came at the perfect time! 6 reasons why you should get married on a golf course. Plus, since moving to Arizona last year the one thing I have wanted to do but not done is learn how to play golf! Anyone want to teach me? I have brand new clubs handy!

Take it away Laura….

The venue where you get married sets the tone for this important event. If you want a beautifully landscaped backdrop with plenty of amenities built in, a golf-club wedding could be the answer to your quest. There are plenty of reasons to tie the knot at a golf course, including these six.

  1. Beautiful Environment

Golf courses are some of the most meticulously landscaped areas around. They have lush lawns, thriving plants, and mature trees. Many have ponds and lakes on the premises, as well. Not only are these gorgeous natural settings perfect for holding a gathering, but they are also the perfect backdrops for taking photographs. Whether it’s winter, spring, summer, or fall, every season is lovely at a golf course.

  1. Elegant Dining Facilities

Golf clubs are designed to host large gatherings of people for special events. They have commercial kitchens, wait staff, caterers, and elegant table settings complete with fine linens, utensils, and dishware. Because everything is right there at the course, less time is spent commuting for the wedding party and guests. Most clubs have indoor and outdoor options, too.

  1. Chapels or Gazebos for Ceremony

Golf clubs have gazebos, archways, chapels, or other special areas where marriage ceremonies are held. If you dream of an outdoor wedding, you can have one on the course. Indoor options are also available, depending on the weather and location you’re selecting.

  1. Event Possibilities

If you and your wedding party want to put together a package of special events linked with your marriage, a golf course is the perfect place to do just that. You can hold your rehearsal dinner poolside or in the cocktail lounge. If your friends and family members are golfers, treating everyone to a game of golf will be something to remember. Holding a morning-after brunch at the club is another way of tying a string of activities into your wedding weekend.

  1. Wedding Planners

Clubs that hold weddings have wedding planners on staff to help you work out the details of your ceremony and reception. Because planners are so familiar with the setting, they can help you with seating arrangements, scenic photo spots, and a menu to fit your taste and budget.

  1. Ample Room

Because golf courses are designed to accommodate large groups, they have plenty of space for parking and partying. Your guests won’t have to worry about where they’ll park, because there will be an abundance of parking spots. If you have a band or DJ playing the music for your reception, you’ll have room to dance and move around without worrying about tight spaces or bothering neighbors.

No wonder so many couples are choosing golf-course weddings, even if they aren’t golfers! There are too many advantages not to consider holding your special day at this amenity-packed venue.
